3-Axle Tanker Trailer: Empowering New Oil and Gas Transportation Needs in Algeria

A major oil and gas transportation company in Algeria recently faced a challenge: as oil production in southern oilfields increased, more crude oil needed to be transported to northern refineries. However, the existing vehicles had small single-transport capacities, leading to high round-trip frequencies and excessive long-distance transportation costs. After comparing multiple options, the company learned about the large-capacity advantages of Mulincan’s 3-axle tanker trailers through Mulincan’s agent in North Africa and immediately initiated cooperation negotiations.

Algeria’s transportation environment has unique characteristics—one-way distances from oilfields to refineries often exceed 500 kilometers, and the central region experiences high temperatures in summer and sandstorms in winter, placing high demands on the stability and weather resistance of tanker trucks. Addressing these characteristics, Mulincan’s team proposed a customized solution: considering the customer sometimes needs to transport both crude oil and associated natural gas condensates, a dual-compartment tank with independent controls was designed to prevent mixing of different media. For high temperatures and sandstorms, the tank’s thermal insulation layer and ventilation system were optimized to prevent abnormal pressure inside the tank; meanwhile, the vehicle body’s sealing was enhanced to reduce sand and dust from entering key components.

More importantly, Algeria has strict local certification standards for dangerous goods transportation. Mulincan’s team proactively collaborated with local authorities to ensure the trailer’s braking system, safety protection devices, and other components fully complied with certification requirements, avoiding issues during subsequent customs clearance and operation. The customer was highly satisfied with the comprehensiveness of the solution and soon signed a procurement contract for 10 trailers.

The reason this 3-axle tanker trailer can meet Algeria’s oil and gas transportation needs lies in three key strengths:

1、Large Capacity for Efficiency: Compared with the company’s existing 2-axle tanker trucks, its single-transport capacity is increased by over 30%, reducing the number of round trips from oilfields to refineries. This saves nearly 20 transportation tasks per month, significantly cutting driver and fuel costs.

2、Weather Resistance for Safety: The thermal insulation layer controls the oil temperature inside the tank during summer heat, avoiding risks from fuel expansion. The sandstorm protection design reduces wear on parts, ensuring stable performance even during long-distance travel in sandstorms in the central region.

3、Compliance for Uninterrupted Operation: Local dangerous goods transportation certification was completed in advance, allowing the trailer to be put into use directly after delivery without additional modifications. This saved the customer a great deal of time and quickly alleviated transportation pressure.

Currently, the first batch of 3 trailers has been produced and is undergoing maritime shipping procedures, expected to arrive at the Port of Algiers in one month. The customer stated they look forward to these trailers quickly improving oilfield transportation efficiency and plan to purchase more models based on future business needs.
