HOWO 6X4 Square-Box Dump Truck

Mulincan – Customized HOWO 6X4 10 Wheels Square-Box 40T Dump Truck for Tanzanian Mining Areas, Efficient Operation for 180,000 km

Ore transportation in gold mines in southern Tanzania is characterized by “heavy loads and gravel-rich roads”. In 2023, a local customer needed to expand their fleet and required used dump trucks capable of carrying 35 tons of ore, adapting to bumpy mining roads, and featuring a square-box design for neat stacking of bagged ore. After comparison, the customer chose the HOWO 6X4 square-box dump truck provided by Mulincan. After one and a half years of operation, the truck has traveled a total of 180,000 km without major failures and has become the main vehicle for short-distance transportation in the mining area. This highlights Mulincan’s professional control over “working condition adaptation + vehicle preparation”.

1. 6X4 Drive + Core Preparation, Coping with Heavy Loads and Bumps in Mining Areas

The customer’s core needs were “35-ton heavy load + gravel road passage”. The HOWO 6X4 model recommended by Mulincan was previously used for short-distance sand and gravel transportation in China. Its 6X4 rear dual-drive system distributes power evenly, and the 380-horsepower engine is suitable for medium-short distance heavy-load transportation.

To ensure reliability, Mulincan carried out targeted preparation: disassembled and inspected the engine, replaced aging valve oil seals to ensure stable power under heavy loads; tested the gearbox shifting logic to prevent gear slipping caused by bumps in the mining area; reinforced the chassis crossbeams to meet the 35-ton load-bearing requirement, and replaced with wear-resistant enhanced tires to improve grip on gravel roads.

The customer feedback: “Our previous truck was prone to slipping when passing potholes with heavy loads, but this HOWO 6X4 remains stable even when fully loaded with 35 tons of ore on gravel roads. It can complete 15 short-distance transportation trips a day, 2 more than expected, increasing efficiency by 15%.”

2. Square-Box Optimization + Neat Design, Adapting to Stacking of Bagged Ore

The customer’s transported bagged gold ore powder required “neat stacking without scattering”. Mulincan made two optimizations for the square box: first, polished the inner wall of the cargo box to avoid bagged ore being caught and damaged, and installed detachable side rails to facilitate manual loading and unloading; second, calibrated the levelness of the cargo box to ensure that 3 layers of bagged ore can be stacked without tilting. The single-box loading capacity reaches 32 cubic meters, 3 cubic meters more than the customer’s old square box, increasing the single-transport volume by 10%.

In addition, Mulincan inspected and maintained the lifting system, replaced the hydraulic oil of the dual-cylinder lifting pump, and adjusted the lifting angle to 55°, ensuring the square box remains stable without shaking during unloading, and no bagged ore is toppled or damaged. The unloading time is shortened to 20 minutes, 8 minutes faster than the old truck.

3. Fuel Consumption Control + Maintenance Support, Reducing Operating Costs

Before delivery, Mulincan optimized the fuel consumption: cleaned the engine throttle and adjusted the fuel injector atomization effect, making the vehicle’s full-load fuel consumption stable at 30-32 L/100 km, 2 L lower than the customer’s other old trucks of the same type. In response to the high-temperature and dusty operating environment of Tanzanian mining areas, Mulincan also formulated an exclusive maintenance plan for the customer, clarifying key nodes and specific items such as “replacing the oil filter every 10,000 km, checking the air filter every 15,000 km, and inspecting the braking system every 20,000 km”. This helps the customer avoid maintenance blind spots, reduce the risk of failures caused by improper maintenance, and lower costs from the perspective of long-term operation.

The customer said: “Based on Tanzania’s diesel price of 1.2perliter,wesavenearly300 in fuel costs every month. The fuel cost saved in one and a half years is enough for 3 maintenance services, and the cost control is very good.”

4. Detailed Adaptation, Matching Short-Distance Operation in Mining Areas

Combined with the customer’s need for “15 short-distance trips per day”, Mulincan made detailed adjustments: installed a large-capacity water tank (200L) to prevent engine overheating due to water shortage in the mining area; upgraded the cab seat to a shock-absorbing model to reduce driver fatigue on bumpy roads; installed anti-collision rubber strips at the rear of the cargo box to reduce collision damage during frequent loading and unloading.

Now the vehicle still maintains efficient operation, and the customer plans to purchase 2 more trucks of the same model from Mulincan recently, which confirms the adaptation value of the HOWO 6X4 square-box dump truck and Mulincan’s preparation services.
